Wee Care Developmental Centre is a non-profit community service. It provides pre-school programs based on the rationale of early intervention and integration. Care is available for children with special needs aged six months to six years and typically developing children.
All children attending here have access to the part-time program, and are entitled to a fast track for acceptance into full time. Referral Service.

Veith House is a neighbourhood house whose challenge is to meet the needs of children, individuals, and families. We work primarily with people living in poverty, with empowerment as an ever present goal.

IWK Extra Support for Parents Program
“E.S.P. volunteers are making a difference in our community!” A service of the IWK Health Centre
ESP volunteers provide help and support to families with newborns. New parents are offered emotional support, adult company, and hands-on help with their child/children. Volunteers may provide parenting information, help with getting to know Halifax-Dartmouth or assistance in getting necessary services. Most important, parents can expect a reliable, caring person who is able to be there for a family at a wonderful, but difficult, time of their lives. Referral Service.
